Is Private Email Server to Blame for Clinton Upset?

by: Hostwinds Team  /  November 9, 2016

Day one of the post-political hangover starts after an 18-month bender of politicians duking it out to see who would be the next President of the United States. At the end of it all, we end up in bed with a former reality TV star whose hair we cannot quite determine if it's real or not. What put us in this situation is one of the major factors for the Clinton defeat centered around her use of a low-security private email server?

You may be asking yourself, "how low security of a server was the former Secretary of State and potential presidential candidate using?" According to the Associated Press,

In emails reviewed by The Associated Press show that State Department technical staff disabled software on their systems intended to block phishing emails that could deliver dangerous viruses. They were trying urgently to resolve delivery problems with emails sent from Clinton's private server.

Although the server was not the only major item of contention between the two candidates, it was a hot button issue throughout. Trump and his camp heavily pushed the fact that over 32,000 emails were deleted, and Hillary brazenly skirted the rules of the Freedom of Information Act. This broken record of emphasizing mistrust and abuse seemed to have an effect, even though the NY Times states, she did turn over "55,000 printed pages in more than 30,000 emails."

As your head is no longer inundated with the political machine and begins its drunken recovery, we want to hear your opinion. How much of Hillary Clinton's downfall can be attributed to the use of a low-security private email server, if any?
